The woman on the left is a mother from Miami who was so desperate to feed her hungry family that she was trying to steal a lot of food.
The woman on the right is Miami-Dade County Police Officer Vicki Thomas. Officer Thomas was about to arrest Jessica Robles but changed her mind at the last minute.

Instead of arresting her, she bought Robles $100 worth of groceries:
“I made the decision to buy her some groceries because arresting her wasn’t going to solve the problem with her children being hungry.”
And there’s no denying they were hungry. Robles’ 12 year old daughter started crying when she told local TV station WSVN about how dire their situation was:
“[It’s] not fun to see my brother in the dirt hungry, asking for food, and we have to tell him, ‘There is nothing here.’”
Officer Thomas says she has no question that what she did was right:
“To see them go through the bags when we brought them in, it was like Christmas. That $100 to me was worth it.”
But Officer Thomas did have one request:
“The only thing I asked of her is, when she gets on her feet, that she help someone else out. And she said she would.”
And guess what? The story gets even better.
After word got out about what happened people donated another $700 for Jessica Robles to spend at the grocery store.
And then best of all a local business owner invited her in for an interview and ended up hiring her on the spot as a customer service rep.
She started crying when he told her:
“There’s no words how grateful I am that you took your time and helped somebody out. Especially somebody like me.”
And to think it all started with one veteran police officer trusting her “instinct” instead of going “by the book”.

Today is my dad’s birthday. I have to say that I absolutely love this man to pieces. He has been an amazing help to me all these years and has really been more than just a father figure but a friend as well.

Hey! There I am, now a year older! My birthday was on the 16th. My weekend was definitely packed with fun and adventure.

I went camping with a good friend of mine, Abbey. The first night was rough. We couldn’t start a fire and there was no help around. The following day a family camped next to us and helped us out a ton (which means we had all our smores then!)

For Father’s Day Abbey, my parents and I headed to New York. Abbey and I went to Toy’s R Us and rode the ferris wheel, I got an awesome picture from the top! Then on Monday (my birthday) we ventured to Staten Island, only for the ferry ride, and spent the rest of the day in Manhattan.

Later that day we for home and I went out to dinner at Chili’s with some other friends. I had amazing flatbreads with cheese, pico de gallo and guacamole. #YUM

Needless to say I had a wonderful time with family and friends!

I began working at Kids Quest in the Mohegan Sun Casino. I watch and play with kids along with attending to their sugar craving needs and cleaning.
My manager saw that I have a small tattoo on my arm and now I have to wear a bandage at all times. At least I have some cool bandages!! Minions are totally cute and awesome.

The Final Struggle

I have a HUGE problem, procrastination. I know I’m not the only one with this problem, but it feels like I am. Tomorrow I have finals, finally! I have to write two dreadfully long papers and study for three exams I have to complete within an hour or so. I’m not sure how I’m going to get any of this done within a day. My fault for waiting last minute and thinking I could be like super women and get away with it.. It’s the final struggle. :|

                                 WISH ME LUCK!!

I have two doggies now! Well, kinda. Little by little Cotton, the dog on the left is transferring to my families home. Cotton and Sisi.

Cotton is a Bichon Frisé and Sisi is a Lhasa Apso.

I had a really nice Mother’s Day with my parents. We went to the Mohegan Sun Casino and enjoyed a really good but really expensive meal. The Sangría was worth eating there! Plus, it was all free, thanks to Q105! Then we *cough cough* I, did a little shopping. I got some bath bombs from Lush that I LOVE and some makeup from Sephora.
After spending some good quality time with my parents I babysat some kids for my second mom so that she could have a nice night out..

I’m so happy I won money for my mom! ! :D Happy Mother’s Day and birthday to her!

My little angel Sisi Rose. She’s too cute! Thought I might share this photo, it’s my one of my favorites.

This “Hippie Juice” idea seem way to good to pass up! As a beginner bartender, I had to try this. So there’s the recipe and there’s everything I bought to make the drink.

Right now the drink is chilling in the freezer, can’t wait to see how good it came out! :D

Today has been the nicest day yet! Here’s a picture of my apple trees booming. Yay! I can smell summer around the corner. Shorts, flip flops and hot beach days, can’t wait!! Especially not having to worry about school anymore.

I’m spoiled. I miss getting a coffee every morning, taking a siesta each afternoon and buying a drink or two every night. I miss the slow paced environment. Nobody is rushing around, or worried about to much. Europe knows how to live life, better than anyone else.

I’m addicted to travel. Not just traveling but planning for a trip or reading about people traveling. Excitement rushes around in my head. I crave every detail, every photo.
I took this picture in Málaga,  Spain. July 2013.
